Alexander Söder is a research based art director, creating visual communication and content, mainly in the field between culture, fashion and art.
Alexander is educated in art and visual culture theory at Uppsala University and Stockholm University and in art direction at Berghs School of Communication. During the training at Berghs, Alexander held an internship at Acne Studios, where he later recurrently worked in content productions until 2015. Subsequently he was appointed Art Director at digital agency Acne Production in Berlin – assigned accounts such as Diesel, Vorn Magazine, The Economist, Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto’s collab line Y-3. Between 2015 and 2021, Alexander joined Weekday, whereof the last year as Creative Lead in the brand’s content studio.
In 2021 Alexander co-designed the graphic identity for the exhibition ’WEIRD SENSATION FEELS GOOD – The World of ASMR’ at the Design Museum in London with graphic designer Agga Stage – a collaboration with the Latvian architectural firm Eter, which in 2022 received Dezeen Magazine’s award Best Exhibition Design. In 2025 the exhibition met the Hong Kong audience at Gate33 Gallery.
Alongside art directing large and small scale projects for Filippa K, H&M, Rave Review, Norberg Festival and Röhnisch Sportswear, Alexander co-designed the permanent exhibition experience ‘Design Stories’ at the Röhsska Museum for Design and Craft in Gothenburg together with Agga Stage and London firm OMMX – combining his academic record in art and visual culture with creative practice. ‘Design Stories’ takes on the museums collection from the late 1800’s until today. The catalog ‘Design Stories – New Perspectives on a Collection’ is sold in bookstores worldwide.
In 2025, Alexander introduced the design collabroration with rapper, singer and songwriter Yung Lean’s label World Affairs.
